I got a 1986 ford (http://www.2carpros.com/forum/here-vp651650.html#) with a 5.0 302. i bought this car as a project car it starts up everytime, but it idles rough, and when underload/in gear it shakes bad and runs horrible, when you touch the gas pedal (http://www.2carpros.com/forum/here-vp651650.html#) the car shakes and stalls and doesnt accelerate you can here the engine spolling up but it doesnt go anywhere. Ive checked the dist. cap and new spark plugs and wires, checked the cylinder compression, and timing and its all fine. any help would be nice

Sounds like a good bet would be the MAS (Mass Airflow Sensor)

some of the older ford 5.0s had major problems with hard start no power not drivable when egr fails.just a thought
