97 Eclipse Non Turbo 2.0 Missing on 1 and 4 cylinders. Have changed cam sensor, crank sensor, coil pack, plugs and wires. Any suggestions on where to look next?

Are you sure its a spark issue and not fuel? Check all of the wiring come from the coil pack and make sure none of it got burnt on the EGR pipe.

I have checked all wiring even tracing the wires from the coil pack to the ECU and checking with an ohm meter. And yes, there is no spark on 1 and 4.

Thanks

Well it seems like you have covered pretty much everything but the ECU. I hate telling people to replace the ECU since its such an expensive piece and no one can be sure if that is the problem. But you have seemed to eliminate everything else. I cant think of anything else that could cause spark to die on just 2 cylinders. Did this just randomly happen one day or could something have caused it?

It just started missing one day. I do have an ebay ecu that arrived today. I will try that tomorrow. Thanks

Did you try the power transistor?

No I have not. Im not really sure where its located or what it looks like. Where would it be located on a 97?

The 420a motors do not have power transistor packs.

Ned I need one to MS to control the spark.

It was infact the ECU...runs great now...but I did do a stoopid thing... the ECU was for an automatic car....dOh!

Well thats good, glad you got it fixed. An auto ECU should work the same just have a lower rev limiter. And you may get a CEL for some auto tranny shit. But other than that the car is drivable at least.

My bad about the transistor, thought I'd throw it out there anyway.
