The Phoenix is now 4WD !DOCTORBILL 08-20-2009, 11:29 PM Just for the Grins of it, I made my '95 Metro 3 cyl into a 4x4. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i86/DoctorBill_SCC/Metro%20Head%20Rebuild/The4WDPhoenix.jpg Found a metal "4 wheel drive" on a vehicle at the Pull-n-Save, popped it off with my pocket knife and Gorilla Glued it on my metro. Haven't been on this forum for a while. The Phoenix, which I rebuilt several years ago is still going strong ! DoctorBill leonbentz 08-22-2009, 01:29 PM Well darn Bill, I was checkin to see what kind of stunt you had to pull to do that. Nice touch though. I've seen several cases where other emblems were put on cars. Johnny Mullet 08-22-2009, 09:26 PM Nice license plate Bill! RossT 08-22-2009, 11:49 PM Nice license plate Bill! If I was one of Bill's chemistry students, I would be scared!! DOCTORBILL 08-23-2009, 10:38 PM I haven't been just sitting on my butt. I am replacing the Timing Belt and adding an Automatic Transmission Cooler to a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 on another forum. http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showtopic=23280 What started out as a simple thing flushed down as a big Lincoln Log when it developed an oil leak. I've learned quite a lot and Crvett69 has helped me a lot - he works on those vehicles, too. I had always wanted to put 4x4 or 4 wheel drive on my Metro. Crvett69 tells me some guy on TeamSwift was importing a transmission - rear axle, bolt on change over to actually convert a Geo Metro to a 4x4 for $900. The 5 speed manual transmission that I rebuilt is still on the bench. Ever since I added some 30 wt motor oil to the transmission (it is now fuller than the fill plug), the noise has stopped. So, I will try another winter and see if the Transmission is quiet when cold. Maybe I did not need to replace it after all. Still have the clutch kit. There's nothing to bolt it to, the floorpan is different. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
