Like the subject says... 2000 lincoln town car. The passenger side rear window went down and now it wont go back up. Every other window goes up and down except that one. The cars outside and it's raining and i need it to go back up ASAP.

A quick fix if possible. The cars used as a taxi and, well, i need the car to work. Nobody wants to drive around in a taxi with an open window while its raining, so any help is appreciated.

Any ideas?

Can you hear the window motor running when you press the switch? If so, did the window its self kinda go up, then stop then a little more then stop etc? Might be the round bushings that go out in the motor. Comon problem with these cars, and not to hard to fix.

I have a 2003 Towncar that the back window wouldnt go down, it for some reason got stuck, so I banged ont eh door pannel lightly and it freed the window.. Might want to try that.
Then you could have someone operate the switch and using both hands on both sides of the window lift it up as they press the switch.

Good luck.

I don't hear the motor running at all when i push the switch on either the driver side main one or the one on the actual door. It doesnt sound like anythings going on in there like the cars off.

I turned the car on and off... did nothing. I tried a lot of banging the panel and it didn't do anything either.

I would say the motor or regulator is bad. I would remove the door panel & Foam pading and see if the cable is broken & wrapped around something. If not, you can take the motor out of the door and disassemble it and replace the bushings. They sell them at the local auto parts store. Another thing just to get you but is to have a friend operate the switch and have u put both hands one on each side of the glass, and gently use force and pull upward to see if it will go up. Good luck.
