99 3.0 4V engine question

Friend got a 99 Taurus SE with the 3.0 4V Duratec engine in it that has a knock, want to replace engine. What vehicles have this engine that would work in this car?? I am not familiar with these cars so any input would be greatly appreciated.

You are limited to the 98 and 99 Taurus and Sable for the 24V DOHC Duratec.

Plus watch out on the wiring harness too including the fuel rails and check it over.Ford loves doing 6 month changes and I hate that.It is a big job,the engine and transmission still bolted together coming out from the bottom for the engine swap.
