Monkeytech 10-21-2009, 01:21 PM Yeah if you do a cylinder leakage test you would know if its leaking out of intake valve or outake valve ( valves are not seating right). jdmccright 10-21-2009, 01:44 PM A leak down test can show if oil can get by the piston rings (hissing through the crankcase vent), but won't show if oil is getting by the valve stem seals due to burned valves as you suggest. You are confused with having a lack of compression in a cylinder. Please be mindful of the symptoms the originator has described. However, if you are addressing the lack of acceleration then a compression and leak-down test would be in order. quick69gto 10-21-2009, 05:44 PM jdmccright is correct. Blue smoke while accelerating: worn rings Blue smoke while decelerating: worn valve seals (or guides) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
