I was thniking about getting the Primera motor from them and the tech on the phone sounds like he knows his shit. I was just wondering if anybody has any experience with them or a friend that does?? Is this a good place to get a motor from cause it sounds like it is....any feedback would be great thanks...:D AznVirus 10-25-2001, 01:14 AM do they have a website? Blue93G20 10-25-2001, 01:41 AM Yeah its sr20development.com a lot of the site is under construction..... P10DET 10-25-2001, 01:51 AM Yes, Chris really knows the SR20. He is probably the best in the country for DET swaps, even into 1.6 cars. He's well thought of by the SE-R community. GoodJuan 10-25-2001, 02:29 AM I think close to 500 horses says he knows what he's doing. The one in SCC belongs to Chris "Shaggy" (can't remember his last name). Chris "Big Head" Parker owns SR20 Development. The two are close friends along with George Peters of JWT. Chris Allen aka "Shaggy" Chris Parker knows his stuff pretty good. I have purchased a few things from SR20 as well as had my tranny for my Turbo SE-R. Especially helpful if you a So-Cal person. Jon GoodJuan 10-25-2001, 10:12 PM I live in SD and the fact that i'm minutes away from sr20development and JWT makes me very conscious of how broke i am. =( kris 10-25-2001, 10:25 PM I think he ordered his motor from them today. I think he said it was $590 shipped. Blue93G20 10-30-2001, 02:27 AM Yeah $590 is correct for the primera motor....works for me :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D yeah enuff smilies Turbo91SER 10-30-2001, 08:10 AM FWIW, I got two of them from Watanabe for $385.00 shipped to Dallas Texas. If you don't want answers to your questions then don't post them. P.S. who the hell wants a B16A anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blue93G20 10-30-2001, 08:43 PM ahhh fuck it..... i asked for weeks prior to buying a motor where to find one at a good price but nobody had any input...until of course after i buy one ...then its like HAHAHAHA you got ripped off i got two for less than that.....HAHAHAHAHA can we say annoying....but fuck it i have a motor and my car is fixed so it really doesn't mater to me. As for kwatanabe i just heard they suck and through my friends experience they did so i'm glad you got that motor with "10000" miles on it. BTW how can you say it appears to have 10000 on it????? Did get second opinions? cause my motor appears great but it appears to be broken...rod knocks awesome.:D :D Gmsteve17941 10-30-2001, 09:04 PM Well here is the scoop "Dope" i was not on the forum at that time so i could not hold your hand and lead you though life and as far as needing a second opinion to decide how many miles a motor has on it I am an ASE CERTIFIED MASTER MECHANIC with 20yrs experiance what do you have? And as i stated i disassembled the motor and inspected the bearings and measured the clearances and it showed no wear so you just go out and look at your nice looking broke and nice looking new motor and pray to the engine gods that you have a good one. PERSONALLY I KNOW I HAVE A GOOD ONE!!!!!!!! Don't be such a smart-ass unless you know the credintials of the person you are trying to flame they just may know a little more than you!! As this has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt!! GoodJuan 10-30-2001, 09:57 PM :o this "convo" is going NOWHERE! Let us just drop it where it is eh? Stay away from K. Watanabe. I've heard some things that I've been sworn to secrecy about them (believe me, don't believe me I don't care - just warning). Blue93G20 10-31-2001, 02:06 AM Look at me i'm a master mechanic and i think i can tell how many miles are on a motor..... Your educated "GUESS" is as good as the non-english speaking people you got your damn motor from...after all its still a GUESS and there is no way to tell how many miles are on a motor by looking at it.....so don't try to be all professional and be an ass about it i was just making a point that there is no fucking way to tell that a motor has 10,000 or so miles on it...fuck you might as well of said it has 1 mile on it or so. i'm just saying don't spout out stupid numbers and then try to back it up with your "experience". all i know you could work at pep boyz and we all know what great reputation they have or maybe you do alignments on my car at some point. just cause you ASE certified doesn't mean you can assume how many miles are on a motor cause you know what assuming does. Heres what you know...one you got a good condition motor congrads, and two you know that you don't have any FUCKING clue how many miles are on it...so flame your fucking self and set the building on fire.... :flipa: :flipa: :D Gmsteve17941 10-31-2001, 07:39 AM Ok Smart ass i am groing tired of talking to some punk that thinks he knows it all about engines since you told me i must work at Pep boys or somthing you are the winner your right! I cant tell the exact mileage so thats why i said it appeared to only have 10,000 on the clock since its an unrealistic number in your small mind assign your own # i really dont care what you think anyway and i can be an ass if i want to!!!! ASE CERTIFIED MASTER MECHANIC certified in the following Engine and Driveline Driveablity Braking Systems Emission Systems Suspension Systems Sir Systems P.S. I am not a Pep Boys emplyee i am a Shop Manager at one of the largest GM dealers in Dallas. Blue93G20 10-31-2001, 03:44 PM Your the one being an ass thats some great first posts...you've been here like ten minutes and i'm surprised with your vast knowledge that your not already a moderator. Your just a fuck and probably some stupid ass teenager. If your not, grow the fuck up. Wow and you would be surprised at how much a teenager can know. Also your probably some stupid fucking redneck that works a GM and changes oil...so keep you bullshit cridentials and eat a dick....:monkeypis you itec311 10-31-2001, 03:57 PM Originally posted by Gmsteve17941 ASE CERTIFIED MASTER MECHANIC certified in the following Engine and Driveline Driveablity Braking Systems Emission Systems Suspension Systems Sir Systems Wow dude! These certificates don't mean much. Abuddy of mine works at a honda dealership works with many guys who have these certificates and some of the stories he tells me are pretty bad. Working at a shop or dealership doesn't automatically give you power and knowledge about cars. It just says you're better(to unknowing people) than some grease monkey working out of his garage. Get off your high horse and shut the fuck up. Oh yea another thing, you work on gm vehicles. Something tells me Nissan couls probably make a longer lasting motor than gm so using knowledge from those crapilly built motors and applying it to a good quality nisan motor probably won't work too well. kris 10-31-2001, 04:10 PM Originally posted by Gmsteve17941 Originally posted by Blue93G20 Well mine runs strong and i took it apart and it apeared to only have about 10,000 or so on it so i put it in and well 6 months of hard driving say it all Like the Energizer bunny its still going!!!!!!!!!!! I would also hope that a 10k mile motor would run stron 6 months after it was put in. What do you want us to say about all your paper certs? Paper means nothing here. Maybe we will start to respect you more when you can come in here and help with good, quality information, rather than try and flaunt your almighty certs. There are people here who I would listen to over you anyday, and they dont have any of your precious certs. I guess what I am trying to say here, is paper means shit.
