Help w/ Speaker Replacement 95 Tahoe 2 doormrsmoos 08-08-2009, 01:12 AM My 17 y.o. son's 95 Tahoe 2 door's speakers are needing replacement. They are the stock ones. He has a Pioneer DEH P5900ib stereo in it because he has a subwoofer and amp in the back. The tweeters in the doors are shot as is the odd sized 4x10 speakers in the back. I am sure the 6.5" door speakers will go next. I want to replace these but some of the stereo places are telling me I need to get an amp for the Pioneer stereo. I do not want to do this--I want my son to know he can't crank the music too loud or the speakers will blow and this will be the only replacement:nono:. We will most likely be buying him something newer and smaller (Toyota Tacoma or?) when he graduates 2010 so he will get better gas mileage etc to go to the college 20 miles away. So I don't want to drop a bunch of $$ on this Tahoe but I do want it to sound decent. He has managed for over a year with the stock speakers. Does anyone have any suggestions for replacements? I know the stereo and electronics stores are going to try and sell me everything in the store :disappoin and I don't wanna "get took"( I am Mom and they see me coming). I have seen some Kenwood 4x10s (KFC-415C) for $55 and from the reviews at OnlineCarStereo they sound like they will go well in the back. But what about the tweeters and the 6.5s in the front doors? Any suggestions would be appreciated. :smooch: j cAT 08-09-2009, 10:07 AM My 17 y.o. son's 95 Tahoe 2 door's speakers are needing replacement. They are the stock ones.
