car shakes when accelerating into right turnssuperslink 08-06-2009, 11:01 PM it shakes only when accelerating into the turn at a speed above or close to 25 mph:banghead: left turns are fine actually theyre great lol checked cv boots no signs of wear or grease escaping checked transaxle fluid and outer seals worried about the ball joint (will probably take it out this weekend and check it) also tie rod thing is if it was the ball joint/tie rod wouldnt this happen if i coasted around a corner too (which it doesnt) recently changed the control arm (the problem already existed) its not making any sounds tried driving in circles slowly radio off also tried reversing in circles nothing can be heard and the shake isnt there unless im over about 25mph shocks seem fine did the bounce car test lol she comes back to the same position in one movement any ideas hugely appreciated roadrunner2 08-07-2009, 12:48 PM Check the motor and tranny mounts. ID the vehicle please. superslink 08-07-2009, 02:08 PM i did notice the front mount has a small crack its a $15 part ill switch it out and get back got my fingers crossed (i have no problem fixing things that need it i just dont want to go out and buy $50-$100 parts when they dont need replacing) thanks for the tip i was just kinda blowing it off but that does make sense jdmccright 08-10-2009, 11:27 AM Also check the tie rod ends and ball joints for play. It can be the right CV joint; it can go bad without any exterior signs of failure. Year and mileage of your car would help a lot here. superslink 08-15-2009, 04:36 PM 1996 geo prizm 1.6 not lsi you say the right cv joint dont you think it would be the left seeing as it happens when im turning right and is putting pressure on the left side? the other reason i ask is because i already ordered the left cv half shaft lol:runaround: ive checked tie rods and ball joint they seem to be fine and that motor mount was fine after all. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
