My Oil light came on and there was a ticking sound coming from the motor i put some oil in the car and when i press the gas smoke started coming from the tail pipe i was told that the heads where bad and i had a front end oil leak.

Does the smoke colored black? Usually bad head gasket produced black smoke that comes out the exhaust pipe.
