I just picked up a Ram 2500 with the Cummins Diesel in it. I have a few problems though...

I searched around for the shifting in and out of overdrive and hear it may be the TPS. Its a 94 and when cruise is on at about 60 it shifts in and out sometimes.

Also, I'm running REAL high RPM...Like... 2600 at 70. This obviously is not normal. I think the truck has been setup to pull. It has a 5th Wheel in the back. I plan on plowing snow with it so I figure that shouldn't really hurt it too bad, but just kind of concerned. I stick around 65 and barely drive it on the highway.

Last problem, and biggest one, it seems when I shift it into 4WD the front end never locks in. I can shift it all the way to 4L and I can feel its in low, but only the rear wheels will spin, the fronts have no power to them it seems. Something not locking in I'm assuming?

Are these automatic hubs or are they the ones you have to dial in ?

The hubs have covers over them so I'm assuming they are automatic.

Just a quick update for anybody searching for these issues, I found this...

http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1qe9v-4wd-1994-dodge-ram-2500-cummins

I'll look into the answer given there, but I'm pretty sure I need a new TPS. I may try cleaning it though for a quick cheep approach.

No auto hub on these just a front axle disconect. Make sure you have vacuum to it when is 4x4 and 2wd. (2 lines one applies and the returns both done with vacuum) if no vacuum check lines and switch on top of T-case if ball is stuck replace.

Just checked tonight for vacuum and had none. Is there an easy way to get to the top of T-case to check this ball?
