O.K. here goes. 2001 Tribute rides very smooth on "good" roads at pretty much all speeds and no unusual wear on the tires. Question is, when the vehicle hits a bump it sounds like something is hitting metal to metal. There is no vibration in the steering or pulling to either side. My thoughts are that I've got bad struts or strut bellows or the mounting bearing is gone. What do you guys think? Also, the vehicle is not sitting down in front. I mean it looks like the suspension is correct. I just would like some thoughts before I start the repair. Vehicle has 135,000 miles. Thanks for your thoiughts!
