my father has a 2001 s10 2.2 4cl and the ac when turned on the truck will overheat also the fan swich was replaced along with the resistor pack and still only 2 of the 4 fan speeds work this has been a problem for 2yrs

For over heating check stat and coolant level.
Check rad fan for proper operation and blowing good and air flow threw rad.
Has cooling system ever been flushed or serviced>
Does it overheat at idle or on the road to?
How hot/.degrees is the over heat?
