pos 95 cougar need helpdragon1976 07-27-2009, 08:20 PM i have a 95 cougar that is idling at about 3000rpm's. i hvae gone through all the vacuum lines and checked sensors. replaced egr valve per one mechanics thought nd it still runs the same. any ideas??:banghead: ronaldk 07-28-2009, 12:34 AM you say you checked all sensors?? what sensors and why?? are there codes?? what eng, how many miles, is eng light on?? did you check air idle sensor , TPS, cruise control cable accell cable it doesn't take much pull on either cable to increase rpm?? maybe I helped who knows?? good luck dragon1976 07-29-2009, 06:35 AM it has a 3.8 v6 there is no check engine light on at this time it does work though. i checked the tps, iac, and maf sensors in hope that one was faulty. even checked the sensor that idles engine up when a/c is engaged. ronaldk 07-29-2009, 10:56 AM ok it very well could be machanical since no codes.
