running lights staying on

I bought a 2007 uplander about a month ago. I noticed that the running and tail lights stay on after getting out of the vehicle sometimes. I have waited 15 minutes and they still will not go off on their own. The only way to turn them off is to push the lock button twice on the key fob. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

My new 2009 Montana has a DIC (Display Information Center). Its center dash area has a few buttons to control its DIC. If I remember correctly, I can press a few buttons and select "restore to factory defaults". As a suggestion, use your vehicle's DIC control buttons and "restore to factory defaults" as well. Perhaps one of its security or lighting settings needs to be reset to factory??? Could be worth trying...
