Taking lots of pictures is a good habitmigs_auto 07-24-2009, 10:21 AM GENERAL ADVICE: I have found that a few pictures prior to disassembling anything I am doing for the first or even second time is well worth the extra time I spend taking the pictures. Examples: -Took a picture of a funny looking bolt (was just a larger than normal Torx) and used it to make sure I got the correct size tool. -took a picture of boat engine plug wires before disconnecting to make sure I put them back on correctly. Didn't have to dig out the manual. -took a picture under dash to make sure all wires went back together correctly. they did but not without looking at the pictures a few times. -Took a picture of some leaky well water pipes to Home Depot. Showed they guy there and he gave me EVERYTHING i needed to fix it. In one trip. Even before that I showed them to my plumber bro in law (via email) and he told me I could probably fix them myself. he was right. With digital cameras as ubiquitous as they are, I am beginning to see it as another tool I can't do without and don't need to do without. It does take a bit of extra time but it can be a huge time saver. Just keep the grease and liquids away from the gadget. Not so easy sometimes but still worth it. SO . . . when disassembling anything or whenever in doubt, take lots of pictures. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
