idle too low and sputters when a/c is ongoheelsbaby 07-23-2009, 10:50 AM 02 sierra when sitting at a light or just stopped anywhere the idle is sitting at 500 and if the ac is on the engine will sputter. If i touch the gas and raise the idle to 750-1000 it runs fine and no sputter...so my question is can i/and how do i adjust the idle on this truck??? or if you have had a similar problem help me out, thanks wheelman1917 07-23-2009, 11:20 AM You need a scanner that will recieve live data to see if the computer is getting a.c. on input. You may need an a.c. pressure switch. goheelsbaby 07-23-2009, 12:08 PM so you dont think it is an idle issue?? where would i get said scanner? would auto zone have one??? wheelman1917 07-23-2009, 12:23 PM Any auto shop schould have one . Call autozone to see if their scanner does live data . wheelman1917 07-23-2009, 12:29 PM There are several inputs for the computer to raise the idle. When your are stopped and turn the wheel back & forth the computer recieve a signal from a power steering pressure switch to up idle.Same thing with the power demand from the a.c. compressor. 2000CAYukon 07-23-2009, 09:13 PM It would also be a good idea to clean the throttle body since a dirty one can affect idle quality. //2000CAYukon vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
