How do I remove the door panel on my 2001dylanborns 07-21-2009, 11:03 PM I have a 2001 Escape XLT. About a year ago the drivers side door handle stopped working. The handle would pull, but it felt as though it was disconnected. I had it repaired by a local mechanic for around $60 total. Now my pass. door handle is doing the same thing. I would like to do the job myself and save some cash. My problem is I couldn't figure out how to get the drivers side door panel off the first time it happened. I removed about 4-5 screws but the thing wouldn't budge. I've looked everywhere for an interior repair manual but haven't found one. Could anyone help me with just getting the inner door panel off. I thought I was a little bit mechanically inclined but I guess not when it comes to removing a few screws! Thanks in advance for your help. I know it should be easy to do, but when I tried the drivers side I couldn't get the inner door handle trim to pop off and I didn't want to snap it. Is it just a snap-in snap-out set up? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
