I'm looking to get into car restoration, I've been a certified technician for two years I have all the tools, except for a few body tools I that I plan to buy, and a decent size shop to work in. the only problem is I dont really know what to look for in buying a old car, such as rust.

I kinda feel stupid asking this but could some look at this car and tell me if you think it's to far gone to restore.

Bradley , from the pictures , this car looks like total rust to me . You're looking at major repairs ,possibly multiple body panel replacements . It will also take a huge financial transfusion to get this car back up to par . It's really sad to me as I once had a ' 60 Impala so I'm kinda sentimental towards them . Having said that , I personally would pass on this particular vehicle !

oldblue65, you're good and answered this question perfect and in a very proper manner, wish I could do the same, but it's just not me, here is how the ebay add should have read.

How much will someone charge me to remove this metal junk from property.

I looked at the pictures " ouch " I know how to read ebay seller profiles, and am not impressed with this seller, or most for that matter auto related.

It blows my mind how anybody would consider paying $1500. for something the owner would otherwise have to pay to get removed, and to totally blow my mind :banghead: there is mention of shipping cost on top of the price.

The first feedback comment should scare anybody away. This is the seller's reply to why the item wasn't shipped to the winning bidder:

Junkman mistook for scrap, going to give him a full refund. Sorry my bad.
That might also happen to the car in the auction.
