05 maxima brake problemfufu valve 07-08-2009, 08:21 PM we recently put new brakes, rotors,and struts in my daughters 05 maxima now when she uses the brakes at slow speed there is a clunking noise from the front of the car and what sounds like a pump running for a few seconds after the car comes to a stop also the brake pedal will push your foot back up could this be an abs problem? any ideas would appreciated Nahkapohjola 07-09-2009, 01:59 AM we recently put new brakes, rotors,and struts in my daughters 05 maxima now when she uses the brakes at slow speed there is a clunking noise from the front of the car and what sounds like a pump running for a few seconds after the car comes to a stop also the brake pedal will push your foot back up could this be an abs problem? any ideas would appreciated ABS has selfdiagnostics - tst it (will reveal broken -if- sensor wire). U may also temporarily test/disable ABS by taking its fuse out. Noise can be non Nissan pads settling (?) as pistons are now 'in' compared to used pads.
