I am really hopeing that someone has ran across this problem.

I have an 04 Aveo, she didn't come out and say it but I believe my wife hooked up a set of jumpercables backwards when her batt. was dead the other day. Luckily, to get the car back running the shop I took it to said they found a short in the windshield wiper system that was keeping the car from starting or something like that. Now, I have no power to the radio and this is the weird thing. The clock resets to 1:00 every time any of the doors open. Where would I even begin to troubleshoot something like that??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

First check the fuse. It may have blown when the jumper cables were connected wrongly. 2nd the Aveo factory radio has a feature that disables it whenever the power is cut. This is supposed to guard against anyone stealing your radio. Once the power has been cut you have to enter a code to get it to work again. The codes are on this forum. Go back 3 threads to July 3, Aveo Factory Radio Unlock Code..DEALER CAN'T HELP ME. On this thread go to post number 13. It lists the codes that will unlock your radio. Just start punching them in. One of them will unlock your radio, but first check the fuse. I hope you get your radio going again. Glad to help. ~Dave~

Check all your fuses.

i had the exact same problem. i had some subs and an amp installed at a local shop and a few weeks after the insallation the exact same thing happened to me. i thought it was the fuses so off i went to replace them. i was going crazy because that didnt work so i figured it had to do with the installation i had on the car. i went to the shop and at first they wanted to charge me for checking it out then charge me for fixing it but i talked to the manager and they did it for free. anyway, they mechanic told me it was a problem inside the fuse box and something had burnded out somewhere in there.
