I have just moved to California in the San Francisco Bay Area. Away from the snow and all that. But...I can't register my '98 Ford Windstar in the DMV. It passed the smog test but at DMV they couldn't find an "EPA sticker" in my engine bay. I help them look every where in my engine bay but nope, I didn't see any. And they won't let me register the van. :banghead:

I remembered a couple of years ago when I replaced the lower intake manifold gaskets I cleaned the inake manifolds really well. I am afraid that I removed the sticker back then. I don't really remember.

Can anyone help me look into your Windstar and find the location of the "EPA sticker"?

On my '96 windstar, the EPA sticker is located on the underside of the HOOD.
It is located at the front.....near the center.....just to the passenger side of the spot that the hood latch contacts the hood.

On one end is the diagram that shows the serpentine belt routing.

If it is missing, one might be able to get a replacement through FORD.....with your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

on my 99 it basically on top of the plastic cowl over the radiator.

i would go to ford. i would think theyd be required to get you another for a nominal charge.
