1996 with 4l60elongslide 07-01-2009, 07:02 PM is it possible to install a overdrive shutoff in the transmission. it seems to me that if we could find the right servo we could wire in a power switch. does any one have any thought or experiance with this? spinne1 07-03-2009, 08:45 AM is it possible to install a overdrive shutoff in the transmission. it seems to me that if we could find the right servo we could wire in a power switch. does any one have any thought or experiance with this? Correct me if I am wrong, but selecting the "3" on the gear shifter in essence turns off the 4th gear (overdrive), does it not? maxwedge 07-03-2009, 09:13 AM With a wiring diagram you could cut the proper wire to the trans and install a switch to do this, or 3rd as stated, but why? Or do you mean the lock up convertor? longslide 07-05-2009, 10:17 PM i do alot of towing with my suburban and in hilly area's the trans shifts in a out of gears. if i put in 3 will it still go through 1 2 then 3? or will it just be in 3 the whole time?
