Does anyone have a diagram and knowledge of how to restring a 2.4lt twin cam serpentine belt. I have been fighting with this for a day now. I have checked to make sure I have the correct belt size etc. Just a real nightmare to say the least. The sticky on the 2.2lt is nothing close to the 2.4lt twin cam. Any help would be great.

Its very common for a parts person to give you the wrong belt. Check the new belt against the belt you removed. A lot of belt boxes have a diagram.

I don't have one anymore, but I'm 90% sure it's basically a backwards "L", with a tensioner on the inside of the corner and the A/C compressor on the outside. So starting at the crank and going clockwise, it goes under the tensioner, around the alternator, straight down to the A/C compressor, and then back to the crank.

If you've got the right routing, the few I've done have been a very tight fit. So tight that I had to get a helper to help me force it over a few times. It's the right belt (assuming it is the right belt :)), just takes lots of forcing to get it on. The first one I ever did, I ordered several different brands of belts from a couple parts stores. They were all the same and I finally got one on. One thing I've found helps a lot is to get the belt on the 'leading' side of the pulley and have someone rotate the engine by hand.
