93 Eclipse idles and stalls in gear; please help

I have a 1993 Eclipse 1.8L SOHC and although it idles fine when not in gear, it almost always idles so low while in Drive gear that it stalls out. How can I increase the idle while in gear so that it won't stall out? Is this a simple carburetor adjustment or ????

whats your rpm gauge read while idling, and is it an automatic? idle should be around 800 and if its stalling out when u put it in gear (if auto) then ur torque converter might be locking up...u might know all this already but i just thought id throw it out there seeing that ive had the same problem before. if thats not the case, well then good luck with whatever it is!!
