Canadian Nissan owner: Warranty question

Got a question Canadian Nissan owners/employees. I recently got a used 07 Sentra 2.0S with 9,300Km, still under warranty for 2y 6m or so. I'm due up for my 12K km service which is just a oil and filter change and tire rotations. Is it *necessary* to go to the dealership to have this done to maintain the warranty? Or can I just go to any Jiffylube or Mr.Lube to get it done and still have the warranty honored?

Also, there's a recall on the master cylinder. Is there a database, I guess based on my VIN, where I can check if the recall has been performed?

Thanks!
