2005 tacoma v6 gas milage

I would like to know doe's the size of your tire's have anything to do with gas mileage.I have 265 16's on this trk. now.The owners manual say's it comes with 245 16's. The mileage is better in town than the Hwy seems like.
Should I do a once over on this trk. sence I just got it 2 month's ago ?

If your tire size is wrong your odometer will also be affected making it difficult to tell the exact mileage. Bigger tires will probably cause a vehicle to get worse fuel mileage.
