Just messing around.. still have to redo the line work and clean it up alot in Illy. Splashed some colour on quick to get a feel for what it will look like... http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q219/mavic31/10Camarotn_sm.jpg

Nice start. It does look like the passenger side front fender is exaggerated a bit more than the driver's side.
Seems to throw off the balance a little, but that's probably something you'll get to in your reworking of the design.

Started the linework this morning... Blip.. I agree the passenger side looks exaggerated..is it maybe OVER exaggerated? Gives it a Toon look i think..maybe too much though...what do you think...thanks for the input.

I think also looking at in now that maybe the headlight bezel etc needs to be shifted a little left on the passenger side... dont think one would see that much to the left of it.....just the fender basically... that might center the grille out a little better too... just noticed it in the previous posting...

looking good so far, I don't think the passenger fender is over exagerated, it just doesn't line up with the driver side fender, maybe exaggerate that one just as much, the hood just sorta looks crooked because of it or like the driver's side fender is way shorter. other than that very very cool

Nice design. I agree with the mentioned posts... considering its a toon,
In my opinion, it would of been more appropriate to have that "Over exaggerated" fender on the driver side as it would of shown a fish-eye kind of look...or car in motion !!

Keep it up and hope to see more W.I.P. I like em and we all learn for them.

Thanks to all who have given input on this project... here is what i have come up with so far... i think it looks better.. i moved the drivers side fender out a bit and repositioned the headlight on the passenger side more to the left ........ hmmm..

You don't have that wrap around side marker feel on the passenger side that you have on the driver's side.

Very nice. Good work on varying the line width, adds lots of interest to the toon.

Are you thinking about making a color version or leaving it as line art?

Hey Blip...heres an update... did some of the grille work and stuff... tightened up a few lines. My plan was originally to colour it.. i am eager to try and do a white car... i know the depth of colouring something white is difficult (although Lemorris tends to make it look easy).. I am eager to try it... so maybe i will do it twice..one orange... one white...
We'll see what comes out of it.... will try and keep you updated... :D

....thanks for your words...

that is as solid as anything I can do.

The linework is great and the attitude, perspective and weight are.....professional.

Lovin it

Well done, good job on adding in details.
It can easily stand alone as a finished line art toon, but relax and have some fun with color.

Yah Blip.. I agree.. IMO that it looks awesome the way it is... I guess a part of learning though is to try anything once :D... So i will attempt to add colour and hope i succeed... fingers crossed...thanks!

this is one of those pieces that will take you to the next level.

by applying what you learn on this one to your next piece you will see tremendous growth

I'm excited to see this piece finished, but I'm more excited about your future work because this one is a stepping stone

you're going to be a great one

:)

thanks for your kind words Lemorris.. and thanks to all who have assisted me along this journey, for inspiring me and giving me direction. i have looked at your work more than ever and although each artitsts work is unique we each pull ideas andsome technique from those around us. I have been looking at your work (your white Audi and Camaro especially) to assist me through this hurdle... it will be great success if i can finally learn to illustrate white and black vehicles. Sounds easy, but is harder to do.... with practice i will be there one day too... thanks again... :)

Well.. i started to illustrate this image and then upon examining it closer i realized the front grille work was not accurate.. (turn signals are to the inside of the lights) and that had me re-work the design. Upon doing so.. i had to resize the grille a bit..and lengthen the drivers fender.. i think i am happy with it now... cant believe i made that mistake... waste of time.! Lesson learned though.... onward i go..

Good changes and just remember it's all a learning event. I, and I bet just about everyone else, learns something from each drawing/CAR-toon we create.

Nice start with the coloring too.

I'm see this right---I like how you are using the white of the BG as you white hilight--like in water colour paint---or you haven't put colour there yet---good work either way!
No pressure but......everyone is watching hahaha!

looking darn good man. keep it up for sure. the only thing I see however is maybe push the darks just a little bit more, like where the curvature of the body starts to roll under towards the ground on the side. I know its white but pushing some of the darks will help it out a lot. The orange stripes are killer I'm really lovin that for sure. I can't wait to see more!!
