check engine light does not work. bulb or what?

Which model year? If everything is working fine except for the light, the bulb is target #1. Much less so would be the display panel then wiring and worst case, the PCM. I would either do the key dance or head to AutoZone for a free scan for codes to make sure nothing pops up.
