Modified Jada Toys 1/18th Initial D R32 SkylineTightDA8 06-15-2009, 03:12 PM Im usually in the plastic models section with my 1/24 scale cars and this is my first time trying my hand on modifying a die cast. Its the Initial D R32 made by Jada Toys. I've had it for a while and always thought it was a nicely proportioned car but needed some things to make it stand out. I took the original wheels, painted them gold and made them a little bigger by using the rim barrels from a 1/18th Hot Wheels tuner Ford Focus. It ended up looking like a deep dish step lipped Skyline wheel. I added the big brakes from the Focus, painted silver with red caliper. I chopped up the axles, lowered the car and put in some negative camber. Then i took the bucket seats from the Focus and painted the seatbelts red and silver for the buckles. The piece that was the intercooler was originally all chrome. Not realistic, so i sprayed it flat black and painted the center which made it look a little better. Pretty happy with it now...Makes me wanna try out another die cast car! enjoy: before: http://hobbymax-australia.com/Ebay-HBMX/Car-Diecast/1-18/Initial-D/Nissan/Skyline-GTR-R32-Black-NO-FIGURES/SL371323.JPG after: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02772.jpg?t=1245092721 http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02773.jpg?t=1245092832 http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02776.jpg?t=1245092920 http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02777.jpg?t=1245092963 http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02778.jpg?t=1245093001 http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02779.jpg?t=1245093036 http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02775.jpg?t=1245093075 http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/LSBE46/Model%20Cars/DSC02780.jpg?t=1245093111 vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
