The air pump on my 94 transport stopped working last week. You know: the air pump in the back that runs when a heavy load is put in the van or it is also used to fill up tires, basketballs, ect... Well, I put about 10 bags of heavy mulch in it and the pump never turned off. So is it dead or can it be fixed? I need to know! I love my van and I don't want anything bad to happen to it!

heres a video of it:

Check the fuse.

It is probable the air balloons are shot, or you have an air leak somewhere. YOu can check visually or by feeling with your hand if the balloon around the shock absorber deflate rapidly once the compressor is turned off...I understand, just after ytou have taken the bags out of the car....
I replaced my shocks with Monroes. www.avigex.ca/xport/shock2.jpg Well, the whole system was shot eventually, the compressor had shorted out, which doomed the control box....and I replaced the whole outfit with a small 10$ air compressor.

well, the thing doesn't even turn on. So could it be the fuse?:runaround::runaround::runaround::runaround:: runaround::runaround:

my mistake....I had understood it was running (turned on) and would never stop (turn off).....so the shocks are spared...but the rest behaves like mine did; yes, the fuse is probably shot....

(based on 3800 engine)
and it will probably blow again as soon as you install a new one. engine compartment lamp is fed by same fuse, so it should show...
... A 10$ compressor will be OK....but from now on, you'll control it manually..

well which fuse is it? O'm sorry. I'm bad with fuses in cars. The diagrams confuse me!:runaround:

From reading the owner's manual, the fuse is the 20A, second one down on the left hand side. It reads 'ELC'. see diagram 'fusepanel38.jpg' above.
