Wwwwhhhhhyyyyyyy???????????? Did he give reasons? Surely it wasn't necessary to scrap it... Was it kept for spare parts maybe? And was the intention to scrap XP1 as well if it hadn't have had it's extensive crash? hmm

You really have some catching up to do... ;)

Gordon Murray at ArtCenter recap... (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=436579)

Now, he told me XP2 was scrapped, but as you will see in that thread he also BS'd and said that all of the LMs were originally painted orange. We now have concrete evidence that proves that wasn't true. :uhoh:

Are you talking about the Brunei ones?

Yes - at the time I spoke to Gordon it was mid-2005 and we didn't have any of the hard evidence that the Black LMs really existed. There were several credible sources that had confirmed them in so many words, and of course the original tip came from the Chassis History poster included with "Driving Ambition". I was hoping Gordon would finally put that whole debate to rest, but instead he kind of muddied the water by quoting the factory line that they were all orange. :headshake

I think it was a couple of months after that the Maurizio Corbi drawing surfaced of LM1. Wish I had that to share with Gordon that day in kind of an "...oh really?" fashion. :iceslolan

Erik:

I read that Gordon's story what you've wrote earlier. Great to see that man like he, has time to answer questions by a longway. Thanks for brief of that chat with him!
