Yes, Al already posted this as a link to a thread on FerrariChat in the Definitive F1 Scale Model thread here, but I thought the item was so impressive that a lot of people might miss his mention of it, and that it was really deserving of its own on thread here as well.

= = = = =

Collector Studio in Toronto, Canada is offering this incredible 1/8th scale LM display model. The level of detail is astounding frankly.

The description:

Finally our brand new 1/8 scale two foot long McLaren F1 LM model is ready. This model was done based on the ultra rare Papaya Orange XP1/LM in conjunction with McLaren and is fully licensed. It was made using CAD & CAM files from the factory and is absolutely perfect in every detail. Only 99 have been made, each one complete with carbon fiber case, edition plaque and plexi cover. The engine bay opens on special gas struts to reveal the awesome miniature V-12. Each model comes with a book on the car, signed by designer Gordon Murray. A few images are below.

Available for CAN$6250 / US$5595 / €3950 + shipping.

If you are interested in one like I am and have the funds available, I'd suggest you contact Morry at http://www.collectorstudio.com ASAP. A real LM is one of the most desirable cars produced in the past few decades and I can see these large scale replicas being highly sought after as well.

The LM model is built by Amalgam models here in the UK.

Check out their site www.finemodelcars.com (http://www.finemodelcars.com)

Look through the site for the high res images of the ones posted by Erik.

After studying the pics, I am now a little bit disappointed in the model, on a few minor issues ie:- socket caps holding the wing end plate on, shiney screws for the side windows, engine cover opening to the wrong angle etc etc.

I know these are only minor issues, but at £3250!! . Its as if they rushed on the last few details. Shame, as this lets the otherwise superb model down.

I notised these couple of details also. Like the engine cover opening and the side window screws. Strange mistakes about that price. Good to have a second oppinion about these, what I looked before but not dare to say these.

Off Topic:
Somewhile ago hurtsg01 convised me about the quality ot 1/18 Kyosho models. And couple of days ago, I finally got the Lamborghini Countach LP400 by Kyosho. The detail level is incredible. The trunk has been upholstery by very elegant felt. What comes to the engine room, you really can not ask anything more about the detail. Or the interior, great.

I payed of that about 80 US $ and if I compare this to £3250, I'm really satisfied to have UT Models XP1LM which quality is very satisfying and precise. I got it earlier this year very reasonable price and I'm really pleased of that now when I have seen this expensive model.

I can recomend every one Kyosho's 1/18 models, detailing is absolutely superb.

Model looks a bit small compared to the real car!!

I would have seriously purchased one of these models, but some of the pore detailing would have allways stared back at me, when admiring it, :nono: shame.
