2006 Grand Caravan A/CBuzzed 06-09-2009, 02:59 PM I have a 2006 Grand Caravan. I may be imagining stuff but I think the front AC isn't blowing as cold and the rear AC. How can I check the System? Is this a problem that the GC's have? RIP 06-17-2009, 05:04 PM Put a thermometer at a front vent and a rear vent for a few minutes and compare. Don't know if there is an established limit but I'd say if they are within 5 deg I'd call it good. Buzzed 06-18-2009, 08:23 AM It is way more than 5 degrees more like 15 to 20 iwannagofast 06-18-2009, 09:02 PM The rear a/c evaporators are notorious to leak on these last model caravans. you need an A/C machine to charge the system.this is something you might have to take to the shop.To replace the rear evaporator and recharge/leak check the system, you are probably getting charged around 3 hrs labor. (i believe its 2.3 hrs to replace, then what ever they charge you to recharge). the part itself costs $350 if i remember correctly. iwannagofast 06-18-2009, 09:06 PM Put a thermometer at a front vent and a rear vent for a few minutes and compare. I was refering to a 5 degree difference between the air coming out of the rear vents and the air out of the front vents, certainly not a 5 degree reading from a single vent. Hell, we'd all be wearing parkas. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
