I was changing the front brake pads out on my 2001 Honda Accord LX(6cyl.)3.0 and got the passenger side done in record time. However, when I got to the driver side I could not get the caliper bolts loose. Used pb blaster, no luck. Used a mini torch to heat it and vise grips and all that did was start rounding the head of the bolt. Any advice? Is there a way to change the pads w/out taking the caliper off?

A three foot steel pipe usually works. People recommend soaking the stubborn bolt with penetrant few times a day and keep driving. You may get it loosen eventually.

Good luck,

Sam
