Man if I only had some, that thing is flawless. I wish I had your skills. ANDRE SIQUEIRA 05-31-2009, 10:08 PM Spideyman, Thanks for the visit and the comments. Anyone can have these skills. Some have more some less. Just believe in its potential and treat each piece of kit as a kit. Do what you love with love, believe it will have a good result. Thanks rsxse240 06-01-2009, 07:00 PM Even coming from someone with less than perfect English, This should be the #1 post of all time on this forum. Sir, you are doing a very fine job, I will keep tabs on this build through to the end. That is one FINE flat head V-8. I wish you could show us all how you went about casting the coil over shocks. pharr7226 06-03-2009, 12:12 PM Spideyman, Thanks for the visit and the comments. Anyone can have these skills. Thanks Your work and your words are very inspiring. Thank you for sharing your work and your enthusiasm. I assume that the suspension is painted with metalizers. I love the depth achieved with the black wash. Do you seal the metalizer before applying the black wash? I too would like to see how you cast the coil overs. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this build. ANDRE SIQUEIRA 06-03-2009, 08:11 PM RSXSE240 - Thanks for the compliment and hope to continue contributing my assemblies. Unfortunately here in Brazil is very difficult to find materials and afterparts to improve our models. So we have to improvise a lot. I love this adventure, the challenge to look for other alternatives. As the coil and the buffers were made in a surrounding that I have in my studio for assembly. After finished, the buffers were made in copies polimerizavel acrylic resin and then painting and the effects normally. If you want a little more involved than I make, visit my bank of images: http://public.fotki.com/andresiqueira/ PHARR7226 - Dear friend, thanks for the words and encouragement. I think that's the least I can do to help especially those who are starting in the hobby. I had many difficulties when I started to experience many models and denied information. But when we want something, we just believe, is not it? You can be sure that whatever is in my power will be a pleasure help. Unfortunately my English is very bad to be able to communicate openly, but I will do everything possible to understand and respond to all. I hope that they understand at least part of everything I write. When his questioning, the painting was done with acrylic paint from PPG silver in color fine. After painting, use two forms to the effect of depth. Sometimes use water-based bitumen or folder to craquele which is the basis of wax and takes a little longer to dry. With the painting in acrylic automotive paint, has no need to seal before applying the effect, because the grip it is very good and not loose metallic pigment. As the pieces as coil, oil filter, shock absorbers, steering column, gear lever, all I did on my lathe. I am no professional tournament, but with enough insistence to get these pieces. I want to buy a smaller lathe, for example a Sherline, but to post here in Brazil, the freight is very expensive. Something around $ 3000, which still have to pay import duties of up to 112% of declared value. But I believe you can find a friend there to send it around for me to declare lower values and to improve my models. Here's another small update, nothing too, but I want to register. Again, thanks for monitoring my project.
