18" rims on an Integra? - Help!CrazyModGSR 03-31-2003, 06:45 PM I am getting a '95 Integra GSR in less than a week and rims are on my list of initial upgrades. Ideally I would like 18's (Racing Hart Z5000), but I think I once heard that 18's on a 'teg will not leave enough clearance around the control arm or something like that. I've seen Integra's with 18's, but I don't know if I need to do anything else. Also, roads in Connecticut are literally the 3rd worst in the nation, w/ potholes and contruction, etc. I'm afraid I'll get the rims and hit a massive pothole the first day. Any recommendations for this, other than a larger tire width (heightwise)? Also, is a camber kit and/or front end alignment necessary and how tough is the camber kit to install? Lastly, I will be lowering the car the minimize wheel gap, etc. I was planning on the cheaper ($150) coilovers. I know ride quality is sacrificed, but how bad is it really. I like the idea of adjustable height. Are lowering springs any better? Either way I'd like to spend less than $250 max on lowering it. Any help would be great. Thanks much :) casperGSR 04-01-2003, 11:42 PM coming from one who lives in CT and knows how crappy the roads are, save your money and do a true one piece coilover, it'll cost you more now but it will save you money in the long run cause you won't have to replace your suspension setup each year... as far as wheel size get 17's, personally I think 18's are too big on tegs and don't look right, 17's look much more natural... btw, what part of CT you from? GSR 04-02-2003, 01:24 PM koni yellows matched w/ eibach pro kit springs give you all the ride height adjustability you need. combined w/ the best handling and ride comfort. about a $700 combo 18s are a big waste TheExperience 04-03-2003, 04:13 AM they just slow you down, a little overboard. I got 17" Racing Hart c2's, and everyone says there the perfect size.. You think it would be ok to leave the stock shocks and get some better, Ground Control coilovers. casperGSR 04-04-2003, 06:44 PM Originally posted by CrazyModGSR I live in Norwich. IMO, i would say get a new set of struts and springs/coilovers so that way if anything every goes wrong with your aftermarket setup you still have your stock setup to put back in temporarily until you fix whatever problem you run into with the aftermarket setup. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
