96 Intrepid ES - starting issue

1996 Intrepid ES (3.5L) - Wife stopped to get gas. Had key in ACC position to listen to book on tape while filling. When she turned the key off (from acc) to on and start, nothing happened. No lights, dash was dark, nothing at all. She turned the key to the off position, opened the door and closed it, turned the key to the on position, tape ejected from the stereo and then tried to start it, bingo, it started. No check engine light...nothing. Ideas?

Sounds like a ignition clyinder lock problem or igniton switch prblem to me.

thanks for the reply. Figured it out. The battery cable to the negative terminal was loose.
