Hello all - I have a 2006 honda accord with the check engine light light. I pulled the error codes and got two, specifically, P1172 and P2000. Any help would be appreciated. I have looked all over the net and am getting conflicting results on these codes (supposedly, P2000 has something to do with the hybrid car - I have a plain old gasoline engine (4 cylinder).

Thanks,
Dave

That is interesting!

I could not find anything for P1172.
P2000 gave me:

NOx Trap Efficiency Below Threshold

Have you checked obvious things like spark plugs, air filter? I do not know it 2006 has a distributor and wires, but if you do check them as well.

Good luck,

Sam

I called Honda and they told me the P1172 indicates a bad O2 sensor (the one before the catalytic converter). They had no idea what P2000 was. So my plan is to change the sensor and hope that fixes it. Unfortunately, I can't find any books on the 06 accord (i.e chilton or hayes). Seems those have not been created yet. I am new at this stuff, so hopefully I'll be able to find the O2 sensor! Just wish I had the manual!

just follow the exhaust manifold down...

did you reset the computer and see if those same codes return?
