Hi there,

I am a complete newbie to this forum, so please be gentle...:) I thought you guys might like to see my pictures of the 'missing' bonnet from the crash tested XP-2. The bonnet does not feature in any of the pictures I have ever seen of XP-2, nor is it on the car in the video of the MIRA crash test.

As you can see it hand signed by Gordon Murray.

It's a great memorabilia addtion for the rich enthusiast. Are you the seller?

Was originally posted here (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=5970949&postcount=18) too, but with less pictures

The pics in your link were taken by the guy I bought it off. I may consider selling it at some point, but I like it where it is at the moment. I also have a COE on the back of an actual photo taken at MIRA. Signed by Derek Waeland director of Mclaren at the time...

I would love to get it valued properly at some point. Anyone here that knows what it might be worth..?

It's only worth what someone is expecting to pay. Advertise it in the right places and the right person sees it and £1000's may come your way. Stick on eBay and it may not make anywhere near what you bought it for.

Would you be willing to stick up the other pics you have?

Here are some more pics...

I would love to know why it was NOT on the car when it was crash tested.

I guess if anybody knows I am in the right place to find out!

You'd think it would have to be on the car, to see if it broke free and went through the windscreen (for example) during the test. It has scuff marks on it, so perhaps it was, despite a pic showing it without it on pre and post test

I concur, surely it would need to be on the car to be a valid test, but it was definitely NOT on the car during the crash test as you can see here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUPq760LC00).
As for the scuff marks, I think these are on it due to careless storage...
