Wow not much info, no 1-2 upshift? Do you have a vacuum modulator on this trans, if so check for vacuum to it for starters, if not I would suggest a full scan with a trans function scanner. Any CEL?

No up shift, has no modulator, no codes. Thanks.

Ok, then the full scan is next as I said, also it may be starting in 2cnd which is a fail safe in some cases, make sure the main plug on the trans is seated firmly and no corrosion.

Maybe we are on different planets here, a full scan with a special scanner for transmission functions will allow for commanding the solenoids on and off as the pcm would do, a regular scanner will not do this.

Thanks Maxwedge. I am going to get a trans shop to do a full scan like you said. My snap-on scanner shows a 1-2 shift but nothing else.

Got it going. Used heater controls to erase history codes. Now car runs great.
