my riviera runs about 10 miles and smells hot. the oil light comes on gradually at lower speeds then stays on after 10 miles . the engine gets loud but im not buring or losing any oil. could this be an oil pump, it did sit 5 or so years. i havent taken it farther than 12 miles .

Welcome to AF, based on engine noise and low pressure you have internal problems, bad oil pump, clogged oil pick up screen, only getting the oil pan off and checking the pump.
