77 caprice trying to turn itself over after shutting offDacaprice 05-07-2009, 11:19 PM hi this is for my friends 77 coupe. That's called 'dieseling' and occurs due to any number of reasons, including but not limited to - Overheating or plain running hot Low quality gasoline Fast idle Vacuum leak Incorrect ignition timing Burned valves Carbon buildup anywhere in combustion chamber j cAT 05-08-2009, 11:01 AM That's called 'dieseling' and occurs due to any number of reasons, including but not limited to - Overheating or plain running hot Low quality gasoline Fast idle Vacuum leak Incorrect ignition timing Burned valves Carbon buildup anywhere in combustion chamber you forgot to mention the anti dieseling solenoid.... this and the carb not adjusted correctly..
