:banghead:95 Toyota truck ; Starts, idols, but when it's put in gear (automatic) the engine dies. I have not put a code reader on it yet, but fuel filter was changed. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Did you have any "issues" prior to this? Did it act like it was "lugging" when you stopped at a light or stop sign? Does the engine just die immediately when put in gear or does it lug, kinda like a manual transmission does when you stop and don't mash in the clutch.

If it dies immediately, you have an electrical issue. If it lugs, then dies, you probaly have a bad torque converter.

Thanks, I should get a good look tomorrow. I had'nt thought of the torque converter.I'll let you know the outcome.

I never thought of it either until it happened to me. I chased wires for 2 weeks!
If you've got aluminum in the tranny pan, Your T/C is shot.
