Parking/E-brakeshopmon 05-06-2009, 11:52 AM Hi. I have a 1993 Rodeo 4wd. I need to tighten the parking brake, but have no idea where to look for an adjuster. Any ideas? Thanks:screwy: stanger42 05-16-2009, 09:57 PM Getting the rear wheels off the ground makes this a little easier. The adjuster nut is by the parking brake in the center console. You might have to take the console off but I think if you just look around in the slit where the handle pokes through you'll find the adjuster. You'll need a deep socket (I don't remember what size nut), a 3" extension wouldn't hurt and a ratchet. Don't over tighten the adjuster as this may cause the e-brake to be on all the time. If you have the rear wheels off the ground, you can check this. shopmon 05-18-2009, 10:20 AM Thanks! I'll give it a looksy.:loser: ricebike 05-18-2009, 11:20 AM waitamin, isn't the adjuster supposed to tighten the brakes by going backwards then applying the brake??????? if you have a drum brake setup in the back, then it should do it automatically if not, i recommend disassemble & clean/ relube the parking brake adjuster if you have calipers in the back & the parking brake isn't holding your vehicle, your rear pads may be wearing thin... shopmon 05-18-2009, 12:04 PM nope, just turned a screw in the slit of the console and she tightened up. Worked like a champ! Thanks again! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
