02 Park Avenue Oil pan gasketAlwaysworking 05-05-2009, 12:59 PM Hi All, My wifes grandmother has an 02 PA V6 that needs the oil pan gasket changed. The car is a state away so i want to be prepapred when I get there! Can anyone tell me if I will need any special tools or if this is an unusually difficult job? I have changed them before on other cars. I saw something about some models requiring an engine support device. Any idea what this looks like? I may be able to fabricate one? Thanks in advance for any help! Nathan C man 05-07-2009, 02:24 AM Nothin special. You just need to jack the engine up some to to remove the starter cover which covers some of the oil pan bolts. Just get a block of wood and jack the engine up thru the transmission gasket. Don't know how the engine mount setup is on the 02' parks. but you will have to loosen then. Also to get the oil pan gasket off you'll have to remove the oil pick up tube. Also its probably best to leave the gasket for the oil pick up to on there. It sticks pretty bad. At least mine did. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
