msd dis-2 wiring

ok i have been looking around on the forums all day and havent found much about how to wire a msd dis-2 on a 92 tsi. i found this site http://my.prostreetonline.com/t98.htm and it explains a lot, but how can i keep the tach working? will a tach adaptor fix it?
