A/C Compressor quitdh271 05-02-2009, 05:22 PM 1) Jumper wire on the low pressure switch, compressor didn`t come on, 2) Jumper wire on the high pressure switch, compressor didn`t come on, 3) Checked the fuse in fuse panel and checked fuse under hood, they are good. 4) Switched horn relay and A/C relay, nothing happened (yes, I switched them back). 5) Checked the pressure in the lines (screwdriver to needle valve) and it has a lot of pressure. Seems like there is no power going anywhere to the compressor. Put a test light to all the contacts, it never lit up. If the compressor was locked up, I would think there would be some power somewhere showing up on a test light. The day before, the coil screwed up and I replaced it, then the A/C quit working. I checked and didn`t see any wires or vacuum lines hanging. Ideas? :runaround: Thanks! dh271 05-04-2009, 09:46 PM Update: I can run a jumper but nothing happens. But, I can run a ground wire to the wiring harness for the low pressure switch and the compressor will run. But, it will run all the time even when the A/C is off. Any ideas, anyone? thisnametooktolong 05-05-2009, 07:18 AM how about the dash a/c switch? dh271 05-05-2009, 06:45 PM I haven`t looked at the dash switch yet. Thought I would read up on it before I messed with it. The blower motor works when I turn on the A/C but not the compressor. I`ll give an update later. jpb53 05-07-2009, 04:43 PM When A/C is selected a ground signal goes to the evap temp sensor, then to the low pressure cutout ;then to the high pressure cutout then to the PCM. The PCM will then activate the compressor relay if everting else is okay at that time. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
