2005 Town & Country Engine Codesknjwells 04-27-2009, 06:51 AM 2005 Town & Country 6 cyl. Automatic FWD 44,600mi. Engine Codes I have an engine light on so I cycled the key on and off three times to get the codes P 2097 -and P 0138. Could you tell me what each one of these are implying? Thanks so much for your time. cbwilsha 04-27-2009, 11:28 AM P0138 is a faulty Oxygen Sensor. There are two--the Upstream Sensor mounted on the Exhaust Manifold and the Downstream Sensor mounted on the Cat Converter. Unfortunately, P0138 doesn't tell you which one is bad. I can't find any record of a P2097 code. C.B. tempfixit 04-27-2009, 11:56 AM Here is a link with the code descriptions: http://www.allpar.com/fix/computer-codes.html P0138 is a high voltage output on bank 1 sensor 2 (bank 1 is the same side as #1 clyinder, sensor 2 is after convertor) I would check for a rich fuel/air mixture causing the cat to overload. P2097 is cataylitic convertor related. Hope this helps jpb53 04-27-2009, 11:58 AM P0138HO2S 12 Circuit condition (Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2) – The powertrain control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio in the exhaust. P2097ChryslerDownstream Fuel Trim System 1 Rich or Lean – The ECM has detected a fault with the downstream O2 sensor Bank one is the bank with cylinder #1 on it. RIP 04-27-2009, 03:38 PM Not much new here. P0138 flags the downstream HO2 sensor. That's aft of the converter as stated.
