Howdy from Texas:

Does anyone remember a resin maker producing a trans-kit for the Revell Shelby GT-500?

I remember seeing this a long time ago and forgot who made it. It take the GT-500 and turns it into a GT-500KR convertible.

Thanks for any help.

Are you referring to the late model Shelby?

Time Machine Resin makes a standard Mustang CV conversion (very nice, too-with an uptop that fits perfectly) for the '05-up GT, but the Revell Shelby has different fascias front and rear. Or you could follow the Scale Auto article a while back that shows how to make a convertible conversion yourself.

Rumor has it Missing Link Resin Casters is working on a Shelby CV (new one) but no telling when it will be ready.

I'm looking for the early model Shelby, 1969. Thanks for the info on the late model, though. Having both together as a collection is a nice idea.

Aha, I've never heard of a '69 referred to as a KR, since the original "KR" King of the Road was a '68 and resurrected in '08. I'm 99.9% sure it was GT350 or GT500 only for '69 and '70 Shelby, coupe or convertible.

Whatever, it's available:

You're right. I got my years mixed-up, but the R&D Unique kit is the one I was looking for. Thanks again!
